Dr Caitlin Agnew

Caitlin completed her BDS in Otago, followed by working for the Auckland District health Board (ADHB) for two years as a maxillo-facial and dental house surgeon. After two years in private practice and a passion for Paediatric Dentistry, she moved to Sydney where she was employed as a Paediatric dental registrar for 3 years at the Sydney Children’s hospital and at the Westmead Centre for Oral health. She completed her DClinDent in Paediatric dentistry through the University of Sydney and is a member of the Royal college of dental surgeons, in her speciality. She currently works part-time as a Consultant Specialist Paediatric dentist at ADHB. The rest of her time is very much occupied by her very active 11 month old son, Theo. Her main interests include paediatric oral surgery and providing care for children with special needs, dental anomalies and enamel defects. Caitlin's current research ventures include: investigating paediatric oral pathology in a large tertiary referral centre, investigating the family impact of child orofacial cleft and the effectiveness of oral health promotion interventions during adolescence: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Dr Nina Scott

Nina graduated from the University of Otago in 2006, and after spending a year as a dental house surgeon at Kew Hospital in Invercargill, worked in private practice in Christchurch until 2015. She then returned to Dunedin and completed a Clinical Doctorate in Endodontics in 2017. Nina’s doctoral research investigated traumatic dental injuries in the New Zealand adult population.

Nina is a member of the New Zealand Dental Association, the New Zealand Society of Endodontists, and the Australia and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists.

Nina lives in Devonport with her partner Dan and daughter Isla. She enjoys kitesurfing, paddleboarding and walks with their dog, Gus.

Dr Andrea Shepperson

Dr Andrea Shepperson is an internationally recognised clinician, thought leader and educator. One of Australasia’s best known general dentists, she graduated from the University of Otago in 1984. A practicing clinician in Auckland, she understands the day-to-day challenges of general practice.

Andrea is New Zealand's only Digital Smile Design KOL and Master, running New Zealand's first DSD Clinic. She is an Honorary Life Member of the NZ Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and a Mentor and Alumni of the internationally renowned Kois Center in Seattle, USA. She is a Global Ambassador for Slow Dentistry and a KOL for Ivoclar Vivadent Ltd. She is a sought-after speaker who has always enjoyed being at the forefront of dentistry, and runs a practice focused on digital dentistry. In 2020 she opened her own dental training facility on Waiheke Island, Auckland, New Zealand.

Dr Rachel Smith

Since returning from London five years ago, Rachel has set up her Specialist Practice, Eden Orthodontics. The focus of her Practice is delivering the best possible orthodontic outcome through the integration of emerging orthodontic technologies, such as digital scanning and remote monitoring, with a patient centric approach. This clinical focus has been combined with a commitment to excellence in customer service to create a practice that is now a leading provider of orthodontic treatment in Auckland. Rachel is committed to bring a greater level of understanding about the benefits of orthodontics and the options available for treatment to both the dental and wider community. She has a wealth of knowledge both about orthodontics and what it takes to create a thriving business whilst raising a family and running a home.

Rachel holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago (1997) and a Doctorate in Orthodontics from the University of Melbourne (2005) where she qualified as a Specialist Orthodontist. Prior to returning to establish her practice in New Zealand, she worked as a private orthodontist in Oxford and London’s Harley Street area.
